Although at first it appeared that I would have to back up a few things such as databases and modified php, css, html files, as my site is not just a standard blog format. However after spending half an hour reading through the upgrade doco I realised that the web server that I am on has an auto upgrade option.

Worked like a charm too. Only change I had to make was the main index.php file that was overwritten which I had slightly modified.  It is a shame that the upgrade doesn't check for modified files. Still alls good.</description>
